attack of the creatures -- of my really short trip into nature this weekend

Family of Big City dwellers decides take a hike into nature. First it was dry and hot then it rained and everything was moist and hot. Lots and lots and lots of snails, all colors and sizes took the opportunity to watch the big footed party trampling to and fro. Then a cloud of mosquitos and flies spied warm-blooded sweaty prey and dive-bombed. Everyone ran screaming back to car and left in a cloud of dust, squashed snails and frustrated bloodsuckers.
Had a picknick on the balcony of their 15th floor apartment and enjoyed the sunset without the smaller carnivores.
