Dear Mr. Berkowith,
My online life started with yahoo groups 9 years ago, I left them when they deleted my fiction community without warning - I lost a lot of connections that day, many friends and fellow fans lost a place to meet and talk (needless to say I never returned to yahoo groups and am not using any of yahoo's services). Now I've been with livejournal a few years I have to say I like you guys much better, and I almost forgot my paranoia about giving out personal information, I mean all those nice features livejournal has, and the feeling that there are still volunteers working here... I should know better, Web 02 is after all quickly becoming a source of revenue for big companies, and we, the content generators are to behave or you'll start losing money. Please understand I respect you a lot for apologizing in this way about this debacle. You could have let your press people send out some blablabla (which would have been the final straw for me to leave this place) and just have waited until this blows over (ok, *that* really would have been a mistake ;-)). I just wish I hadn't read the interview you gave cnet about this matter - it gave me a nice healthy reality shock. We're so not mainstream! Of course you had no idea that among the most vocal, active and eloquent journals in your newly-acquired blogging community were those being run by female fans/perverts with "interests" you personally find abhorrent. Who were already up in arms because of another prime example of misunderstanding was angering the fannish hive-mind. LOL.
Still, a fangirl wants nothing more than Please No Changes and really, for restoring Pornish Pixies you deserve some kind of award. Something that should remind you that your users aren't *forced* to use livejournal but do so because they like the place, have online friends there and are part of the large community that made livejournal what it is today.

Have a nice day!
